The Board of Trustees reflects relevant social sectors including ministers, academic professors, members of the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliament, representatives of non-governmental organizations, representatives from the private sector, experts and individuals in their personal capacity.
Appointment Procedures
Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah was appointed President of the Board by Royal Decree. The Vice President is appointed by Board Members, who are appointed by the Council of Ministers to serve a two-year renewable term.
Board of Trustees Duties
Formulating general policies for the operation of the NCFA and approving programs and plans for implementation, including adopting pilot projects pertaining to the NCFA objectives.
Presenting recommendations to set national priorities concerning the affairs of the family and its members, in accordance with the needs of Jordanian society.
Enhancing family participation in public life and according special attention to the concerns of women, youth and children.
Encouraging educational, social, cultural and media programs and activities targeting the family and participating in the development of such programs.
Following up on the implementation and updating of childhood-related strategies and plans of action that pay special attention to the protection of child rights.
Following up on efforts to accomplish the goals of international agreements and conventions ratified by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, concerning the family, women, children and youth.
Participating in the development of legislation to provide for family needs and ensure its security and stability.
Cooperating with non-governmental institutions to accomplish the NCFA objectives.
Following up on the evaluation and review of activities and programs concerning family affairs and proposing mechanisms for improvement.
Conducting research and studies and establishing databases related to family affairs, and defining relevant indicators for evaluation and monitoring.
Endorsing official documents and publications related to the General Secretariat of the NCFA, such as the annual report, annual budget, organizational structure and operational procedures.
Forming task forces and specialized committees from NCFA members and non- members to undertake special assignments or responsibilities assigned to the NCFA.
