 “The Law for the National Council for Family Affairs,” (Law No. 27, Official Gazette on June 5, 2001) defines the NCFA’s mandate and modus operandi, including issues related to the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, General Secretariat as well as NCFA’s role and tasks.  Below are extracts:
NCFA Status
  • The NCFA is a national civil organization established in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
  • The NCFA enjoys an independent judicial status with administrative and financial autonomy.
NCFA Aim and Tasks

The NCFA aims to enhance the status of the Jordanian family and strengthen its role in society to enable it to participate in preserving the nation’s ethical and cultural heritage, in line with the economic, social and cultural changes in the Kingdom, as well as to interact positively with regional and global changes. This would be achieved by undertaking the following tasks:

  • Participating in the formulation of policies, strategies and developing plans pertaining to the family and its members and following up on their implementation.
  • Participating in improving the quality of life of the family, and supporting and strengthening its role, to enable it to respond to the needs of its members and ensure their security.
  • Participating in protecting and advancing the family, and maintaining its unity and identity.
  • Supporting the efforts of various public and private social institutions and organizations that are concerned with family affairs and ensuring that they cooperate and coordinate their roles.
  • Advocating for, and raising awareness of, issues related to the family unit among all partners and stakeholders and the general public/public at large.
  • Creating effective partnerships with local, regional, and international organizations working on advancing the status of the family unit and (that of) its members.

 

NCFA Head Office
Based in Amman, the NCFA retains the right to establish offices or branches as deemed necessary inside or outside the Kingdom.
