About Us  How we work

As part of its institutional personality, the NCFA acts as a partner, not a rival.

Since its inception, the National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA) has worked in partnership with all stakeholders, through discussions and consultations in the development of family related policies and strategies.

The NCFA policy is to follow a multi-disciplinary, participatory approach, which engages all partners and stakeholders in working together within the NCFA platform. This approach avoids duplication of efforts, enhances investment of available resources and ensures transparency amongst partners and stakeholders. It also adds value to the NCFA by:

  • Creating an open forum that engages all concerned parties, from governmental, non-governmental and private sector institutions, by making use of, and coordinating the efforts of advisory committees and consultation groups of multi-disciplinary national experts, practitioners and decision makers to produce technically practical national agendas and submit recommendations on national priorities concerning family affairs in line with society needs.
  • Acting as a convening collaborator for its task forces, partners and stakeholders.
  • Conducting close deliberations with legislators, policy makers and decision makers to amend certain provisions of the law, activate the law and advocate for change.
  • Maximizing the efforts of its partners and stakeholders while maintaining their ownership of their individual contributions and the results produced.
  • Illustrating the bilateral relationship between society the resources and services available and the needs of its citizens.
  • Adding value to, and drawing on, the contribution and expertise of all partners in the field.
