The National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA) plays a key role in providing advice on policy formulation and legislation of issues related to the family and its members. It specifically deliberates with legislators, policy makers and decision makers to amend certain provisions of the law, activate the law and advocate for change. Hence, the NCFA found it necessary to revise all legislation related to the sectors and domains it works on.

The Review and Analysis of Legislation Related to the Family and its Members Project Aims

  • Determine the compatibility of the legal provisions with the basic principles of the Islamic Shari’a and the international standards of human rights relevant to the family unit and its members.
  • Propose alternative legislation, which will better serve and protect the family unit and its members.
